The BKc, Sound Inspiration VOTE! . . .

The BKc, Sound Inspiration: We sat and listened to this and felt really good about it. I think we are building the largest pool of talented people in the world. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again you guys are the most diverse, talented group of people reading The BKc Blog. It’s also always a pleasure to meet many of you in person, so be not afraid to say hello when you see us at the most random part of your journey.

At any rate, Dee Jay Anthony Valadez sent us a BKc inspired mix, he visited The Brooklyn Circus SF and was really inspired to produce more good music, let us know what you think. Does the mix fit the BKc? You be the judge. If it wins your approval it may enter the BKc play list.

Vote: Should this be added to our rotation & why?

Note: Talent Search: If you or someone you know has art, style, music, creative education, history, photography or anything in the BKc discipline that fits our Style + Character vision, we’d love to hear from you or them. You can also create something to show us how The BKc has inspired you. darrylthehippie on twitter says “the guys over @TheBKcircus have no idea how much they’ve impacted my life”.
Send us photographs, music, art, inspiration or sculpture email: thebrooklyncircus@gmail.com. Please be sure to send High Resolution images and your best work.

The BKc, Talent Pool Scott Newkirk : After a long week of fabric sourcing, proofing samples, working the corner office and filling web orders, it wouldn’t be a bad thing at all to retreat to this beautiful space. Our friend and fashion stylist to the best of them has this little pad to retreat to when he is not on the set of another super-sized shoot that he directs. We’ve had the pleasure of working with him and look forward to working with him in the near future. Hey Scott let us know when another one of these little beauties is on the market. You can peep an amazing mix of Scott’s styling work here. The BKc Style & Character and The Hundred Year Plan . . .

The BKc, Talent Pool Tommy Kane . . .

The BKc, Talent Pool: Last night we had dinner with our friend/favorite photographer John Midgley and Scott Newkirk the amazing fashion stylist who worked on the last two photo projects with us. While chatting and enjoying dinner in comes Tommy Kane, who we met last year and his wife. We had no idea that Tommy was such a great artist and had that *amazing sense of humor, well we found out last night.

*I know we over use the word AMAZING, but it’s the only word to describe some of these encounters and experiences.

Look up Tommy Kane and see what we are talking about. One of the most important lessons we’ve learned in growing The Brooklyn Circus has been to always stay surrounded by the best talent and John Midgley has been a constant source of inspiration for us in that area. It’s amazing the circle of talent that he casually introduces us to when we hang out, so John much thanks for constantly introducing The Brooklyn Circus to your amazing circle of talent.

Book Project Plan: The plan for the last few months has been to shoot and produce another book project similar to our now sold out “Changing of The Guards”. This time around the goal is to capture the essence of The BKc in our Fall/Holiday book as well as create another mood book for Spring 2011. The BKc Style & Character and The Hundred Year Plan . . .

The BKc, The Bearded Man & his hat . . .

The BKc, The Bearded Man’s Hat: At a small company it is the norm for everyone to wear different hats. The Bearded Man, Creative Director, Partner, Showroom director, Head of Sales, publicist, cleaning person, mentor, only wears one BKc hat while filling all of these positions. It is very rare that you will see The Bearded Man without a BKc 8 Panel hat on the streets, at the office, with a suit or with jeans. The joke around the office is that Ouigi is hiding all his wealth under the hat, or that’s simply his thinking hat. Either way, the hat has become a staple in The Bearded Man’s silhouette. A few months ago Streetetiquette did a post of the 8 panel hat and it’s history and featured The Bearded Man’s 8 panel hat. A small branding tip, find your hat and make it yours.
