Falling Whistles: Just over 4 years ago, we launched The Brooklyn Circus blog with a simple idea: to share our story with whoever was willing to listen. And as we continue to share what inspires us, we are truly humbled by your constant reminders of how we inspire you. It is our voice that binds us, and how we can ultimately make a difference in each other’s lives.
Falling Whistles is a campaign for peace in Congo – where children too small to carry a gun, are sent to the front lines of war armed with only a whistle. It’s founder, Sean Carasso, launched the campaign with a simple response – make their weapon your voice and be a whistle blower for peace in Congo. The Brooklyn Circus has joined the movement.
This Friday September 10 at 7pm, in conjunction with The Fillmore Art Walk in San Francisco, The Brooklyn Circus SF will debut the whistles in store. 100% of proceeds go to rehabilitate and advocate for war affected children. Join the movement! Wear your protest and become a whistle blower for peace, checkout Falling Whistles amazing video here.

The BKc, Music Inspiration: The Stuyvesants: Darien Victor Birks is a friend of The BKc and has contributed to our music efforts in the past. We are big fans of his www.flwrpt.com blog with his approach on music and design. We recently connected with him as we heard some buzz about his new music and design project. Let us know your thoughts. Vote: Should this be added to our rotation & why?
The Stuyvesants! A project created, developed, and executed by Darien Victor Birks (Flwrpt), and Allan Cole (Algorythm). They brought their talents together to produce 25 instrumentals, t-shirts, logos and graphics which capture the sound and visuals of the 60′s and 70′s, an era that inspires so much of the music and design that we’ve grown to love. They’ve done this under the moniker “The Stuyvesants”, paying homage to their current place of residence, which is the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, New York.
Note: If you or someone you know has art, style, music, creative education, history, photography or anything in the BKc discipline that fits our Style + Character vision, we’d love to hear from you or them. Send us photographs, music, art or inspiration email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be sure to send High Resolution images and your best work.
