The BKc, Streetetiquette Guayabera: Check out Gabe the Great showing off his Latino heritage in what could possibly be our favorite www.Streetiquette.com post to date.

The guayabera holds quite an interesting background. Though its exact origin has not been factually pinpointed, it is understood to have derived from either Cuba or Mexico. The name has been said to originate in Cuba from the wife of a countryman who created a lightweight linen version of the shirt so that her husband can use the large pockets to comfortably carry guava from the fields.

The Brooklyn Circus San Francisco Voted Best Menswear Shop: Refinery 29 is always on the hunt for the latest and greatest in fashion culture in each major city. They recently featured a handful of shops in San Francisco as “The Best Menswear Shops –That Even Girls Will Dig” … and this is what they said…
“When it comes to shopping locally, San Francisco guys have got it made. And while it seems that something new, super-innovative, and male-leaning pops up on the boutique scene every other month, that doesn’t mean guys get to have all the fun. Many of these shops—from the cult-followed Unionmade and The Brooklyn Circus to relative newcomers Welcome Stranger and MAAS & Stacks—have rad offerings that even girls can indulge in. Well, ladies who want to try out the always-classic masculine-feminine look, at least. Just check out these seven completely covetable men’s shops after the jump that’ll make you want to book a boy-girl shopping date asap.”

The BKc, Elements Showcase: A few months ago The Bearded Man was invited to be on The Board of Advisors of one of his favorite new shows the “Elements Showcase”. For the record, we are working on expanding our fragrance offering. Our candles have become a staple and will serve as a platform for all of our upcoming fragrance development.

Elements is the brainchild of fragrance entrepreneurs Frederick Bouchardy and Ulrich Lang, as well as art fair producer Jeff Lawson. Following a successful unveiling in January 2011, The Elements Showcase, the premiere showcase for established and emerging visionaries in the field of fragrance design, will take place August 15 and 16, 2011, and is expanding at Skylight West in New York City.

The second installment this August sees outstanding additions: Caron, Juliette Has a Gun, Costume National, Portland General Store, Bois 1920, Carner Barcelona, Comptoir Sud Pacifique, Robert Piguet Parfums and selective skincare brands, such as Rodial, Lift Lab, and Alchimie Forever, among others.

During its launch, Elements presented unprecedented, curated offerings in the field of fragrance design, with visitors including Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bliss, Anthropologie, West Elm, Henri Bendel, Freemans Sporting Club, The Brooklyn Circus, Oak and Project No. 8., Vogue, GQ, O Magazine, Beauty Press, W, ABC News, Brides Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, NY Press, and New York Magazine.
