The BKc, Online Shop Features . . .

The BKc, Online Shop Features: At the request of several of our loyal online customers and many of you loyal followers, The Bearded Man adds his personal styling to the online shop for a series of special holiday pieces. Stay tuned for a full offering of holiday items styled & presented by The Bearded Man. He promises to bring on his circle of notable industry friends & family to add their twist to a particular piece.

First up is our “Green Mile” shawl collar cardigan. A beautifully hand constructed, 100% lambswool knit cardigan, embellished with leather buttons and felt “1920″ BKc applique. Why 1920?  What is now the NFL (National Football League) was loosely formed in 1920 as the American Professional Football Association. Yet what is interesting is after 1926, all five of the black players that were still in the  National Football League left the league. Several teams were kicked out of the league that year, and with a large number of available, talented white players, black players were generally the first to be removed, never to return again. Several black players did play in the league the following years, but from 1933 to 1939 the black players were officially banned from the league. The NFL did not welcome another black player until after World War II.

As important, Grandma Rose (The Bearded Man’s grandmother) who nurtured his interest in vintage, antique, Style + Character was also born in 1920. She is living, well and 91 years young. She is certainly the foundation of The 100 Year Plan. The BKc, Style + Character & The 100 year Plan . . .
