The Beautiful Struggle . . .

The Beautiful Struggle comes off the heels of Betty The Riviter, Claire Huxtable, the nurses on the battle field who nursed our soldiers, our first lady, the Oprah’s of the world, Maya Angelou and of course the God mother of them all Rosa Parks.
This was a test shoot but the team and photographer Josh Farria took it serious and produced a very satisfying test shoot. Josh is a young photographer, a Katrina survivor, who only shoots film and for the most part, only shoots women. He had all the right elements to be behind the camera for this shoot.
The goal is to use these images as a spring board to a project that stands to be one of our biggest statements to date. Highlighting the important role that women play within the BKc brand.
Typically as a men’s brand, we don’t get to do this as often as we would like- but this shoot gave us the opportunity to showcase how we feel women should be projected and represented.
To the women who raised us, and to our faithful female supporters who continue to creatively “Style” and add “Character” to our product; We realize how important you are, and we are thankful and appreciative.
This is a men’s world, but it wouldn’t be nothing without a woman. – James Brown.

  1. Terrible
Sorry Bkc I have been a loyal fan, but lately your collections have gone stale.

  2. Totally disagree with Felix. The collections are getting better each year. I own two pieces from this collection and I would have gladly payed twice as much for the quality, design, and fit. Keep it up!

  3. I am new to the BK line. I am from Los Angeles and was blown away. This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve spent the last week looking through all the Blogs and all the pictures. I was so inspired by the style and the clothes that I am going to go visit the San Fran store on April 27th. Keep up the good work BK team and stay fresh.

  4. Hey Mitch how long have you shopped at Bkc? The last worth while collection was in 2010. The repeated varsity and cardigans is getting old. The trend has swallowed them up, Bkc bring us something new!!!!

  5. I’ve been shopping with them since 2009. Each year they have brought something new to the table while staying consistent. Each year they bring in new ideas and themes; like the nautical inspiration in 2009, the more collegiate and ivy prep flavor in 2010 and 2011, and now with inspiration stemming from football in the early twentieth century. They aren’t about the “trend”, they are about consistency and brand evolution. To move away from American heritage as inspiration, according to Ouiji Theodore, would not do. It’s the 100 year plan not the 5 year plan. The varsities and cardigans are staples of the BKc reintroduced each season with different designs and ideas. You don’t go to Ralph Lauren and demand they stop with the polo shirt gig. However I’m sure you just have a different taste than I do which is totally fine. I just don’t think The BKc should be called terrible for what they are doing. If you don’t like it now then wait a while because guaranteed they will continue to evolve while staying consistent to their roots.
