  • Another BKc + John Midgley Project. The BKc, Old & New Portrait Project: BKc is looking for older/dapper gentlemen 65+ with “Style and Character” for a photo shoot with one of our favorite photographers to date, John Midgley.

    Details: The shoot will focus on the relationship between our younger elephants (you) and the wiser elephants (dad,mentor, grand dad,great uncle or neighbor) who paved the way for your “Style + Character”. We’d love to have  you guys in the next Bkc book. If you joined us for our “Style + Character Portrait” project, you understand how much fun it is to work with John and the great talent he brings to his projects. All are welcomed, please feel free to contact us for hotel and travel details, it’ll be worth the trip.

    Please RSVP@thebkcircus.com subject “Old & New” with your name, a contact number, a reply email, a photo of you in your Sundays best and one of the older gentleman. Feel free to send several pictures if you see fit. All pictures should be at least 72 dpi and clear.

    John Midgley Bio:
    Born in London, John Midgley grew up in Nairobi, Paris and London, where his mother, a painter, used to drag him around to see art house films and art exhibitions.
    John’s first international assignment was in Paris with View on Colour. John has since photographed fashion and celebrities for countless prestigious magazines in the world, including Surface, Interview, Men’s Vogue, Arena, GQ, Esquire, Entertainment Weekly, Wired, Black Book, Exit, 125 and Big.

    John has photographed for numerous fashion clients including Hermes, Mac Cosmetics, Kenneth Cole, Banana Republic, Gap, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Clarks, Nike and Adidas. His advertising clients include: British Airways, General Electric, Sony, Samsung, LG, Raymond Weil, American Express.

    Over the years, John has won numerous awards at the Dutch and English associations of photographers for his fashion work, as well as inclusion in various prestigious fashion annuals, such as Images De Modes (a compilation of the ‘best fashion photography of the year’).

    in all seriousness, i think this is an amazing project. i love that BKc seems genuinely open to various looks, attitude, and styles. ….And older/ dapper gentlemen (and gentlewomen) tend to have a LOT of character too! development of character is one of the most beautiful parts of growing older.
