HOMESTEAD BLOGO

This guaranteed BKc classic, based on the teams reaction when we saw the final product is inspired by The Homestead Grays.

—————

The Homestead Grays were one of the most successful professional Negro League baseball teams. Winning ten Negro National League Titles (1937-1945, 1948) and three Negro League World Series Titles (1943-1944, 1948). They were based in Homestead, Pennsylvania, but played their home games at both Forbes Field in Pittsburgh and Griffith Stadium in Washington, D.C. source Blackpast.org

—————

The Negro Leagues were a collection of African-American teams and leagues. After the Civil War, African-Americans played alongside white athletes, but in 1890 that was outlawed. There were many different attempts to create a single Negro league; the first successful attempt came from Andrew (Rube) Foster in 1920.

Style is informed by a moment in time, and context is captured by presentation.

The Brooklyn Circus/BKc is a menswear brand that finds inspiration in the pages of history books. Everything we make has a story, from the construction of our varsity jackets to the looms where our denim is woven, and we take these elements into consideration when we cultivate our brand. We are here to tell the story of style throughout American history and to emphasize the power of presentation. We want to change the way Americans dress, one iconic silhouette at a time through the 100-Year Plan. Welcome to the circus.
