What’s the Purpose of RSI
RSI aims to give back to underserved regions all over the world by activating community service projects that bring change, all through the power of music.
How’d you start your music career?
I was at SF State. In my free time, I started producing and touring with different bands and groups. I eventually quit Amoeba and dropped out of college to focus on my music career. I never looked back because I landed two major, life-altering gigs with Microsoft and MTV that helped launch my brand and career. Shortly after that, I was introduced to Soulection via URB Magazine.
Can you talk a little bit about your role at Soulection, and how you migrated to RSI?
I was Director of Worldwide Bookings & Partnerships, which helped me understand how to launch a brand from the ground up, build many artists’ careers, and expand my global network, but I knew I always wanted to do more. On the first ever Soulection India tour, I had a realization that I could use my craft for change and progression – I knew my purpose was bigger than music solely. This thought planted the seed for Room Service International (RSI), and I wanted from then on out to use the power of music for philanthropy.
I left Soulection in 2018 to give my full focus to RSI. Since its inception, I have worked completely and irrevocably towards building this community-action organization. Every activation gives back to the communities we serve.
Since my humble start, I’m grateful that every opportunity that I have had has led me to play in incredible venues all over the world, as well as introduced me to GOATs and OGs in the industry. Even moreso, I am grateful that I have the opportunity to use my craft towards doing good. We all have the power to give back to our communities – we all have the power to live a life of service.
