French artist Kirrikoo-Sculpting A Past & Present Future

If Greece is seen as the birthplace of sculpting and the root of where some of the world’s masterpieces originated, I would stand to argue that sculpting the face mask has its roots on the continent-Africa. We are talking before Paleolithic era, the sculpted African mask has been a part of rituals and tribal ceremonies for centuries. Yet Black artists internationally have explored works on paper and on canvas but not enough in the 3 dimensional form of sculpting. In comes Paris based African artist using his love for culture and the Black image to shape the future while using his past and the deep history of African mask sculpting.
